Speed
Verb + 着 describes a continuing state: a door that stays open, someone sitting, something being worn.
It is often the background to another action: 他坐着看书。

Watch out
- 着 is about a state, not about an action happening right now — for that use 正在.
- 常搭配:坐着、站着、开着、拿着、穿着、放着。
