Where should you start?
Fifteen questions across HSK 1–6, about three minutes. You get a suggested starting level — not a certificate: this is a quick placement check to point you at the right materials.
- 15 questions: five from HSK 1–2, five from 3–4, five from 5–6.
- Listening and vocabulary questions alternate — press the speaker to replay as often as you like.
- No feedback while you go: we do not want you learning the answers mid-test.
How the suggestion is made
Each band is five questions. If you get fewer than three right in a band, the suggestion sits at the start of that band — the bands are cumulative, so a strong HSK 3–4 score means nothing if HSK 1–2 is shaky. Every question is taken from our practice bank, and the same fifteen questions are used for everyone so the result is comparable — including if you take it again in a fortnight.
Your learning path uses this level as its starting point from now on. Once the practice you actually do reaches a higher level than the suggestion, your own data takes over — and everything below the starting point stays there to revise.
